ViaSat Receives Additional $3 Million MIDS Delivery Order
CARLSBAD, Calif., Oct 09, 2008 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- ViaSat Inc. (NASDAQ:VSAT) has been awarded an additional order valued at approximately $2.97 million for Multifunctional Information Distribution System (MIDS) terminals from the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR), San Diego. The order augments the $59 million Lot 9 delivery orders previously announced, received by ViaSat as part of the MIDS annual Lot procurements. This new Lot 9 add-on is for LVT(11) ground-based Low Volume Terminals.
The MIDS LVT(11) variant is identical to the LVT(2) terminal for ground fixed and mobile applications, but includes voice capability. ViaSat is one of two U.S. government-qualified manufacturers of Link 16 MIDS airborne terminals and is the only qualified manufacturer of the LVT(2) and LVT(11) ground-based terminals.
