ViaSat-1 Named Winner in Telecommunications Category for TechAmerica Foundation American Technology Awards

CARLSBAD, Calif., June 16, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- ViaSat Inc. (Nasdaq: VSAT) has been named the winner in the Telecommunications category for the American Technology Awards, which bestows the only “Best Of” awards recognizing all technology products and services for the technology industry. ViaSat won the award for the innovative design of its high-capacity satellite system, featuring the ViaSat-1 satellite. Nominations were vetted by industry experts and technology companies. Known as “The Termans,” these awards are named after Frederick Terman, who is widely credited as being the father of Silicon Valley.
