What’s the most exciting thing you’ve been working on in the past year?

ViaSat-2, of course! If you’ll forgive the pun, it’s been a blast working with so many talented engineers to pull the network together.

What do you love about working at Viasat?

I learn something and am challenged every day. I’m fortunate that I get to work with so many other intelligent and capable engineers. It’s rewarding to know that I’m solving fun problems and learning from my peers while doing it. Viasat’s always trying to improve, which results in a fun, innovative work environment.

What’s around the corner for you and your team at Viasat?

We’re very excited to start working on ViaSat-3 and look forward to all the technical challenges that will bring.

What do you like to do when you not working?

I’m an avid Scuba diver. I’ve been diving since I was 16, and there’s always something new to encounter under the waves, especially here in San Diego.

Star Trek or Star Wars? Why?

“A redshirt and a Stormtrooper get into a firefight. The Stormtrooper misses every shot. The redshirt dies anyway.”

What is one unusual fact about you that might surprise people?

I was born on a leap year, which means that I only have a birthday every four years. In 2020, I’ll turn 8.
